FOCUS (The Fellowship of Catholic University Students) is a Catholic collegiate outreach whose mission is to share the hope and joy of the gospel with college and university students, inspiring and equipping them for a lifetime of powerful Christian leadership.
 

The inaugural FOCUS Founder’s Forum promises to be an extraordinary experience of inspiration, fellowship, and fun. At this intimate gathering of like-minded friends, you’ll have the chance to connect with others who share your faith and values—you’ll also hear from an exciting roster of special guest speakers and musicians. As the 43rd President of the United States of America from 2001 to 2009, President Bush worked to expand freedom, opportunity, and security at home and abroad. Faced with a recession when he took office, President Bush cut taxes for every federal income taxpayer, which helped lead to an unprecedented 52 straight months of job creation.
After the Presidency, President and Mrs. Bush founded the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas, Texas. The Bush Center is home to the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum and the George W. Bush Institute, a nonpartisan public policy and leadership development center that develops leaders, advances policy, and takes action to solve today’s most pressing challenges.

HIS EMINENCE, TIMOTHY CARDINAL DOLAN

Appointed by Pope Benedict XVI in 2009, Cardinal Timothy Dolan serves as the 10th and current Archbishop of New York. Cardinal Dolan served as the President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops from 2010 to 2013, and he completed a term as Chair of the U.S. Bishops’ Committee on Pro-Life Activities. He is also a member of the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization. Known for his charismatic personality and insightful reflections, Cardinal Dolan previously served as Archbishop of Milwaukee from 2002 to 2009, preceded by service as an Auxiliary Bishop of St. Louis from 2001 to 2002.

FATHER MICHAEL SCHMITZ

Father Michael Schmitz is the director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry for the Diocese of Duluth as well as the Chaplain for the Newman Center at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. After attending the Saint Paul Seminary and being ordained in 2003, Father Mike offers weekly homilies on iTunes and bulldogCatholic.org and has appeared in programs for youth and young adults through Ascension Press. His most recent podcast, The Bible in a Year, has drawn a massive audience—reaching #1 on Apple Podcasts for the first weeks of 2021. 

CHEF MANEET CHAUHAN

Renowned chef and television personality Maneet Chauhan is the executive chef and founding partner of Nashville-based restaurant group, Morph Hospitality. Featured on The View, Iron Chef America, and The TODAY Show, Maneet serves as a permanent judge on Food Network’s Chopped, and sits on the panel of judges for Food Network’s Wedding Cake Championship. She will be preparing a special meal for us at the Founder’s Forum.

VOICES OF ROCK RADIO

The collective of musical giants in Voices of Rock Radio has won more Grammy Awards than any trophy case can ever hold. Featured are John Elefante (Kansas), Kevin Chalfant (Journey), Randall Hall (Lynyrd Skynyrd), and Jason Scheff (Chicago), performing their greatest hits together.

SCHEDULE

Thursday: Registration and Welcome Reception followed by dinner and opening session.


Friday and Saturday: Morning and evening sessions with the afternoons open for free time.


Sunday: Closing Mass, activities, and brunch, with wrap-up by noon.
